» ABB Cranes :: Jobs in India

Changing the way cranes use energy can have a major positive impact on energy use, as ABB have proved with the introduction of their automatic cranes. The company claims its automatic rail-mounted gantry cranes use energy at least three times more efficiently than their diesel equivalents, and actually generate power when lowering containers. They’ve gone for the all-electric solution that’s proved to be the benchmark in the world this year, winning 100% of rail mounted gantry crane orders in 2008. By the end of 2008, five of the world’s ten busiest container terminals – including CTA in Hamburg, Euromax in Rotterdam, Busan New Port in Korea and Kaohsiung and Taipei, both in Taiwan were equipped with ABB crane systems, and were moving more than 10,000 containers daily in each port.
