Function and Purpose:
The Controller is responsible for production of all financial statements, business activity reports, budgets and other financial reporting requirements that may be required by external and/or regulatory agencies. In addition, the controller will partner with managers developing process improvements to identify and track cost components to measure efficiencies developed. Manage a team of 2 to include AP and AR/Collections.
Essential Functions:
To be qualified for this opportunity, one must have the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the following functions:
1. Plan and prepare for scheduled tax filing and reporting requirements, to include coordination with CFO and external partners (e.g.: tax preparers and auditors) as necessary.
2. Prepare, coordinate and direct preparation of financial plans, financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts, budgets, and reports required by internal customers and external and regulatory agencies.
3. Supervise and evaluate employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties.
4. Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
5. Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes
6. Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed. Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources. Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas.
7. Compute, withhold, and account for all payroll deductions.
